WOODWALK GIN is crafted from four individually distilled components. For each distillation, distinctive botanicals – such as juniper, berries, roots and herbs, hand-picked spruce tips from the Harz Mountains and fresh Amalfi lemons – are blended in such a way that they develop their own unique flavour profile: distinctly juniper, woody, fruity-earthy or lemony-fresh. Only after distillation are the four distillates and alcohol blended with great care to create a harmonious composition. The result is a Harz Dry Gin with a distinct juniper note, containing no sugar and made exclusively from 100 % natural ingredients. Finally, WOODWALK is diluted to drinking strength using particularly soft water from the Harz National Park.
Balanced juniper note, fine coriander, fruity, woody, earthy nuances and a lemony fresh elegance.
The gin from The HARZ DISTILLERY actually came about during a shared walk in the Harz. On a summer's day, the aim was to experience the Harz with all the senses: What do we see, smell, and hear on our way through the forest?
This once again made it clear how diverse the Harz Mountains are. There are bright, sunny clearings where stony and rocky sections meet berries, fruits and flowers that glow in their colours. There is a slightly sweet scent in the air. A few steps further, a dense forest of conifers and deciduous trees begins. It is fresher, damper and cooler here. It smells of wood and moss, small streams babble by the wayside, and stony paths alternate with stacked piles of wood.
It was precisely this diversity of impressions that inspired our gin.
