During the guided tour, a guide will accompany you through the exhibition area of The HARZ DISTILLERY. From the gallery, you have a special view of the copper kettles.
The guide takes you through the distillation process step by step, explains the individual stations and is happy to answer any questions. This will give you an exciting insight into the craft of distillation - personalised, vivid and individual. Of course, you will have plenty of time to take in the exhibition at your leisure. A highlight awaits you at the end: a tasting of three selected products, where you can experience the diversity of our distillates with all your senses.

The guided tour lasts around 1½ to 2 hours. It includes a tasting of three selected products.

For the guided tour and tastings, yes – you’ll find the dates at the top of this page. You can take the self-guided tour during opening hours without booking in advance.
You must be aged 18 or over to take part in tastings.
Our shop, the tasting room and the lounge are all accessible to people with disabilities. From the lounge, you can see into the production area. Access to the exhibition on the gallery is via a flight of stairs and is not accessible to people with disabilities.
There are car parks and charging points right outside the door. We are located at Zollweg 11 on the B27, on the outskirts of Bad Lauterberg.
Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, except on public holidays. Also open on the first Sunday of every month.
No, our whisky journey has only just begun! We are not yet able to give an exact release date. We’re deliberately not basing our decisions solely on the statutory minimum ageing periods – which are at least three years for whisky – but are guided above all by the quality that develops over time through maturation in selected (oak) casks.
