We popped in on the spur of the moment and decided on the spot to have a tasting there and then, so that we wouldn’t end up choosing the wrong liqueurs to take home. In fact, we ended up buying different flavours. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the prices were reasonable too. We had a lovely, short evening at the distillery.

The visit was great fun and well worth it!! I went on a self-guided tour. It was really interesting and informative. Afterwards, there was a tasting session. The hazelnut liqueur tastes absolutely delicious. I’m taking a bottle of it home with me.

We stumbled across it by chance via the HWN app and stopped off there on a whim on our way back from a walk. A stylish, open and inviting shop. The young lady there gave us some friendly advice and shared some interesting facts about the distillery. After a quick tasting, we picked up two bottles to enjoy at our leisure on the terrace 😉. The spirits are made using regional produce and distilled on site – I generally prefer regional products to those from the big manufacturers. Wishing this young company every success 🍀

Definitely and without a shadow of a doubt well worth it!!We’d been given vouchers for a guided tour followed by a tasting, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, and we were – and still are – absolutely delighted with the whole package! The team on site are genuinely passionate and authentic, and know exactly how to take even complete novices on an interesting and flavourful sensory journey. We live just 4 km away and were able to witness the entire construction phase of the distillery; we’re delighted that our wonderful adopted home has been enriched by such a special place! After the guided tour, we opted for the WoodWalk Intense and are now enjoying it at the weekend with a sprig of rosemary, a bit of organic lemon zest and some Thomas Henry Botanical Tonic, so that each of the ingredients can bring out the distinctive flavour of the WoodWalk Gin – although we also, and above all, enjoy it "simply neat on the rocks" :) An unbeatable taste experience – if you like gin ;) The open, light atmosphere, the colour scheme, the distillery’s architectural style and the focus on sustainability all create an airy and thoroughly appealing ambience that runs right through the entire building. Wherever you look, our beloved Harz region is ever-present. Passing travellers – and tourists of all kinds, in general – are sure to be just as delighted as we are. It was worth every penny. .A really lovely setting. A brilliant tour – it was great to read all about it – and the schnapps, cake and coffee were DELICIOUS. We’ll be back.
